After learning all about gingerbread with our 4th grade buddies, by comparing and contrasting gingerbread stories, reading a nonfiction Let's Find Out about gingerbread, and creating our own mystery gingerbread and gingerbread glyphs we were ready for our culminating event- GINGERBREAD DAY! We all enjoyed these learning exercises and we were all very excited to participate in our own gingerbread day! We made gingerbread cookies, gingerbread houses, paper gingerbread people, a gingerbread game, we colored a gingerbread picture and we played roll a gingerbread! We ended our time together with snack time and the Frosty the Snowman video.
It was an awesome morning and all of these gingerbread goodies along with many things created during the month of December went home today with the students in their giant snow people goody bags! We hope you enjoy going through this bag of treasures.
It has been a FUN week before vacation. Tomorrow is our Recycle/Reuse project and and it is Pine Glen whole school reward day; PJ's and Movie day. Students are welcome to wear their pajamas to school again tomorrow. Please be sure to pack a snack and a drink for your child to enjoy during our movie! THANKS

Winter Celebration!
We had an awesome day in kindergarten today. We had our Winter Celebration. The kindergartners were excited to wear their pajamas to school. We started our day with moving to GoNoodle. Then we went to the cafeteria and we listened to Mr. Lyons read the story The Big Bed for Little Snow by Grace Lin. Our own Max H. is the model in this book. We all enjoyed the book! We took a class picture and posed for a photo with Mr. Lyons. Next, we bought snacks and drinks at the cafeteria kitchen and we all enjoyed some hot chocolate. Then, with all the other kindergartners we went back to rooms 101 and 102 to do many fun activities! It was a free choice morning and students got to pick whatever activities they wanted to do! All these items were placed in their giant goody bags that will go home tomorrow after our Gingerbread Day with our 4th grade buddies. Hopefully this day will be one that the kindergartners will remember!
