Spooky Fun!

Today we had a great day in kindergarten! We wore our costumes to school. For before school work we worked on our vegetable book and ST Math or Lexia.  Next we paraded up to the cafeteria to see our 4th grade partners to show off our costumes and do some fun activities with them. Then it was time for Ms. Kendall came in to do her guidance lesson. After the lesson it was time for recess and lunch.

After lunch it was time for our Owl Show with Miss Pavlicek! To go along with our Science unit on living vs. nonliving Ms. P. showed us many different pictures of owls and she played audio recordings of the different owl calls. We tried to move our head like an owl. We can't turn our heads as far as an owl. We learned that owls have really big eyes. We saw an owl skull and noticed how sharp the owls beak is. We also learned that owls eat, rabbits, mice, fish, frogs, snakes, insects and crayfish. Owls use their beak and talons as tools to help them eat. We use silverware and our hands to help us eat. Ms. P. left us some owl pellets that we will explore and be able to see what the owl had eaten! Owls have really great hearing. The owl has tiny holes on the side of her head that are her ears. We learned so much information about owls and we can prove that we know that they are living. We also posed with Scout to add a page in our memory book.

Then it was time for our party in the bag. We enjoyed our party bags that were packed at home. The kindergartners we so happy with their special snacks and notes. We watched Spookly the Square Pumpkin while the party in the bags were enjoyed.

Next we headed out to the Halloween Sing Along with Mrs. Agati and then we had fun at the whole school reward Fall Festival. We did these outside activities with our 4th grade partners. We are spending a lot of time with them and the kindergartners are forming a really nice relationship with our buddies.

Be safe this Halloween! Wishing all our families a wonderful Halloween weekend. Please remember to help your child count their candy and fill out the candy count paper in the communication folder and send it back to school on Monday. Please remember to pack a book and flashlight so we can read with our 4th grade partners Monday morning. We have decided to make Monday a wear your pajamas to school day too. We though being comfy after trick or treating may be a good idea!
