Room 101 Families,
Thank you. Both Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Hoyt wish to extend a heartfelt thank you for sharing your children with us this school year. Thinking back to last August when we first met for orientation, we hope you will agree that we have all come very far! It is amazing to see how each of your children have grown not only physically but academically! We have great readers and writers in room 101! We know our numbers and can solve addition and subtraction problems and word story problems. We have learned about children through different time periods and have studied animals and more in science.
It has been a great year!
Thank you for gathering with us on Friday. It was tremendous to have so many family members supporting the children as they sang and shared their work with you.
We are humbled by your generosity. Thank you for the class gift. Each of us is enjoying a vase full of flowers this weekend and promises to do something with the gift card for next year's class.
Have a wonderful summer. We know the children will do great in first grade!

Assemblies, Celebrations and More!
This week at Pine Glen was packed with assemblies, celebrations and more! On Wednesday we gathered in the gymnasium to celebrate Pine Glen's 50th! It was awesome. Below is a video of the entire student body singing the Pine Glen School song.
On Friday morning we gathered in the cafetorium for an assembly recognizing students for their success in filling so many buckets of praise this year. A local artist visited with students and shared his experiences and inspirations. He invited each of us to draw with him.

Flag Day Celebration
Thank you to the many guests who were able to join us for our Flag Day Family Celebration today.
It was a great culminating event for our study of American symbols and a wonderful way to share with you some of the work we have done this year.
Below is a sampling of our songs as Mrs. Hoyt videotaped them during dress rehearsal.

Foot Wear Reminder
Pine Glen kindergartners are reminded to wear appropriate footwear for running and playing on the playground every day at school. Sneakers are ideal. Sandals and flip-flops are strongly discouraged as students are more likely to become injured running and playing in this type of footwear.
Bruins Day Friday
Pine Glen School will celebrate with Bruins Day tomorrow, Friday, June 7. Students are invited to wear Boston Bruins clothes or any clothes that are black and gold. This is a fun, optional spirit day!
