Highlights of the Week of November 27th

We are very proud of all our students! Students worked hard this week. They learned more about RRR in preparation for our big reuse project creation day. We completed Topic 5 in our Envision math program- on categorizing, and started topic 6- addition and subtraction.

Students created giant goody bags to hold all the holiday creations, gifts and books for the month of December. We completed our continent study and worked on letters p & j in Fundations. Ms. Kendall came in to do a lesson with the students on "Your Mouth is a Volcano." The Pine Glen Turkey Trot was rescheduled to Thursday afternoon. Mr. Lyons made his way around Pine Glen in a turkey costume and took photos with the students. We went outside to cheer on the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders run. We routed the loudest for our 4th grade partners.

Hoots, Certificates and Congratulations!

This week we had our 2nd student finish the ST Math program and make it to the 100% club. Congratulations to Paige.  As a class we have achieved 60% completion of the ST Math program. We continue to be ahead of the Pine Glen expectations.

We also had a Lexia Superstar, many Hoot card earners, and many at home readers. Congratulations to our students who are working so hard!

Book Study- Feast for 10

Feast for 10 is a counting story that shows how a family gets ready for a feast. We read Feast for Ten every day this week and then did activities to reinforce our learning. We played Bingo using pictures from the book and our Heggerty word games. We talked about healthy and junk food and created a two column note with pictures of healthy and non-healthy foods. We also made personal connections to the story and talked about our family traditions and what our Thanksgiving feasts looked like.
