Teddy Bear Day

On Thursday we completed our Victorian study and we read the Legend of the Teddy Bear by Frank Murphy. We learned that the Teddy Bear was named after President Theodore Roosevelt. We also read the story Winnie the True Story of the Bear Who Inspired Winnie-The-Pooh by Sally M. Walker. We learned how the books by A.A. Milne came to be.  The students wrote a book review on the book they liked the best.  We brought our own Teddy Bears in from home and went on a Teddy Bear Parade through Pine Glen.

Preparing for our 100th Day

 Out 4th grade partners helped us get ready for our 100th day of school. The 4th graders assisted the kindergartens with making their 100 mats, 100 bead necklaces, 100 coloring page and writing the numbers 1-100! It was a BUSY morning but a lot of fun was had. The kindergartners love their big 4th grade buddies. Stay tuned for seeing the end results for all these projects on our 100th day, Tuesday, March 2nd.

Happy Valentine's Day

 

Today we had a festive Valentine's Day. We started our day by coloring a Valentine coloring page. Then we had our Secret Valentine exchange. Next, we went to Room 103 to take class photos, have library, do some Go Noodle movement breaks and we collaborated on a few Valentine themed activities. (Room 101 needed to be decorated for our party!) Then we went back to our room for our Victorian Gathering. We ate our Party in the bag snack, finished watching our Samantha movie about the Victorian Era and opened our class valentines. We read our new book sponsored by Elliott's family, Fly Guy Meets Fly Girl by Tedd Arnold. We ended our day working on a few Seesaw valentine assignments. 

Lots of valentine goodies were sent home today.  We hope you have time to look through everything. Thank you to Mark, Jake and Luke, for the big boxes of chocolates. So much chocolate. We will have to share with our families. Thank you to our students who included us in their class valentines. 💋 It was so thoughtful of all of you to think of us at Valentine's day!
