Highlights of the week of December 19th

We had a fun week of activities for the week before vacation. We were busy and learned a lot but also had a lot of FUN! On Monday we had a special Snow person Glyph activity with Mrs. Ardizzoni. She showed all the students the glyphs - have you built a snowman or not. Do you like warm weather or cold, do you have siblings or not and for the buttons students did a button for each year of their life. (5 or 6 buttons). We drew the snow people in drawing pad then we uploaded the image into the Seesaw app, which the students will use throughout their time at Pine Glen. Invites were sent to parents to join Seesaw so they will see any posts the students make in the app. We will periodically post in Seesaw to help build the students portfolio. Then Monday afternoon we had The Mitten Show with Mrs. P. from the Science Center.

On Tuesday we had our Kindergarten Winter Wonderland. In the afternoon we did our work stations, guessing what was in the Mystery Box, working on our January calendars and calendar pieces. Students also worked on a lowercase letter assessment and the letter z.

On Wednesday we had some fun learning about Arctic animals, reviewed our lowercase letters, wrote for the last time about the Mystery Box and we had extra recess with all our K friends. We also had free time in gym and had SO MUCH fun!

On Thursday we learned more about penguins. JiJi, ST Math's mascot stopped by to congratulate us on how hard we have been working on ST Math. JiJi is so impressed with Room 101.

Tomorrow will be our Pine Glen reward day. Students will their pajamas to school again. We will meet with our 4th grade partners again and learn more about penguins. We hope to watch Happy Feet to go along with our Penguin study and students will enjoy their party in the bag.
