Egg-citing News!
On Monday afternoon Ms. Pavlicek came and put 7 eggs into our incubator. She had been caring for them in a giant incubator at the science center for 19 days. This meant that the chicks should hatch between Tuesday and Thursday (@21 days). When students left on Tuesday we only had a three eggs with pips in them. By the time Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Kearney left for the day, two chicks had hatched. When we all arrived on Wednesday morning there were six chicks! The students have been so excited by this process. Their observation journals are very detailed to document all the growth and changes the eggs have gone through to become chicks and how quickly the chicks are growing!
