This week we continued to work on our Holidays connected by light book. We learned about Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. Next week we will learn about Chinese New Year. We also worked on our reindeer pins, made dotted dreidels, lightbulb patterns, Muhindi (ear of corn for each child in the family) for Kwanzaa. We played the dreidel game and made two column notes showing the similarities among the holidays. We continued our work with the continents, read many holiday books along with our sight word emergent readers. We learned more about addition and did mystery stocking writing. Next week we will do some mystery gift box writing. We read the Mitten many times, created our own mittens, colored the animals that went in the mitten and we practiced our retell at school. We also worked on the Kindergarten News, made holiday cards and had a sight word snowball fight. After we spent time with our 4th grade partners we had a little free choice app time on our iPads.
