Highlights for the week of November 8th

We had a short week of learning this week with no school on Monday due to conferences and no school on Thursday to celebrate Veterans Day. We were still able to do lots of learning. Tuesday morning we met with out 4th grade partners and learned about Veterans and why we celebrate Veterans Day. We read a book about veterans and watched a short video, then directions were explained and the 4th graders and kindergartners partnered up and worked either in room 101 or in 207. We read a Let's Find out about Sky-High Veterans and then we made a mini-book about veterans and wrote thank you notes to veterans. These notes were dropped off at the Burlington Veterans office to be given to Veterans who live in Burlington.

On Wednesday we completed Topic 4 in math and had our math assessment. We also completed our vegetable book and talked about Thanksgiving and what we like to eat at our family feast.  We also made colorful turkeys. Mrs. B was in to help us make fingerprint turkeys.

On Friday, we met with our 4th grade partners and worked on making alphabet board games so the kindergartners will be able to have fun and practice their letters, first sound fluency, drill sound cards, game playing skills and sportsmanship. These games will come home soon so you can play and practice at home with your child.
