This week was a short week with the MLK holiday. We continued to share our blankets, quilts and afghans. We completed our Sea Creature books read these books and decorated our classroom with lots of sea creatures. The students are enjoying our classroom transformation. We had Mrs. Fortunato in and she did a fun shape lesson with us and we used pattern blocks to fill the shapes then we traced the shapes and counted how many shapes we used to fill the shape. The time went by so fast we were having so much fun. We also wrote our instruct stories on how to build a snowman. Process writing is a challenging skill for kindergartners to learn. Please applaud your child's efforts and encourage them to continue to write at home. We also shared our favorite books with each other and shared why it is a favorite. We worked on our persuasive posters and next week we will start preparing for our persuasive Book Sell commercials. We also made our first class patchwork quilt.
