Highlights of the Week of March 7th

We had another busy week in kindergarten we worked on lots of things! We are continuing to work on our dictionaries and Number Rumba books. We are working hard in our Reading and math groups. Mrs. Fortunato came in and played a math game called Back and Forth. Mrs. Parnell was out for a conference on Tuesday and Mrs. B was in to help Mrs. Kearney.

Liam the leprechaun visited our classroom and left us two notes and our first leprechaun treasure, gold and green good luck coins. We made rainbow clouds to hang in the classroom to entice Liam to come back to our classroom. We also made leprechaun drawings and wrote about what we thought leprechauns looked like.

We learned a new song, Dr. Jean's Singing Numbers and we used tally stick, numbers, number words and ten frames to demonstrate our knowledge of the numbers. This has become a new favorite song in the class!

We have continued to work on composing and decomposing teen numbers and learning about the capital letters and the sounds they make. We have also been working hard on our Heggerty phonemic awareness program.
