Highlights of the Week of May 2nd

It was a busy week in kindergarten, and I did not manage taking pictures well. The kindergartners finished their Planting a Rainbow books. They also completed their seed observation journal. The seeds they are sowing are a part of the Mother's Day gifts. If your child continues to take care of the flowers please send us a picture if you get any seeds that grow into flowers. We'd love to document the efforts to tend the flowers. It is a LONG process.

The students also completed Topic 13 in math and we are now on our last Envison math unit, on length, height, capacity and weight. Mrs. Fortunato came in and did a 3 Act Math lesson on measurement with the students.

We celebrated Wacky Wednesday and May the Force Be with You- Star Wars day on Wednesday for a whole school PBIS reward. Mr. Lyons dressed up as Darth Vader. We talked about our Wacky clothes at morning meeting and we did a coupe Star Wars movement breaks. We spent more time in our Discovery Centers. These centers have become a highlight of kindergarten. The students are always so excited to just PLAY!

We had our 4th grade partners down to work on our animal research projects. All groups have chosen an animal and have started their research. Next students will be drawing their animals, finding a habitat to project on the green screen and start working on their evidence to prove how they know their animal is living. The partners/groups will present their information
