Highlights from the Week of June 6th

We were busy in Room 101 as usual. We started our week with our Family Gathering. See separate post on our gathering. We worked on our Protect the Popsicle challenge with our 4th grade partners. See separate post on on this.

On Tuesday, our 4th grade partners also worked on our American Symbol work and a Let's Find Out with the kindergartners.  We explored the different social studies puzzles that Mr. Musselman asked for our input on for future purchases. The students enjoyed the different puzzles that were of the world, continents and the United States. There were three dimensional puzzles, circular puzzles, small puzzles and big puzzles that the students explored and put together with a partner. Mrs. Fortunato also came in to talk to us about JiJi's summer challenge. Information about this was sent home on Wednesday and is also included in the Family News this week.

Wednesday we read our sight word emergent readers, a plant book and our June sponsored class book by the Brooks Family, "A Caring Me I Want to Be". We worked on our coin counting and summer writing. We went to gym and Mr. Kip talked to us about expectations about the PG Field Day on Friday.

Thursday we compared Non fiction and Fiction books about seahorses and we worked on a Let's Find Out about Seahorses. We used the SS puzzles again, and played in our Discovery Centers. We also went to the library and we met Champ. Ms. Small's therapy dog who will be with her in the daily in the PG library. Champ was a big hit with the students and they loved going to the library today.
