Highlights of the Week of May 31st

With the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, we had a short week. On Tuesday we had our Read Across Pine Glen Day. We spent time reading with all grades 1-5 at Pine Glen. We did a LOT of reading on Tuesday. See separate post about our Read Across Pine Glen Day.

On Wednesday we spent time working on Map book and getting finishing some work we need to be completed before our Family Gathering on Monday! We also practiced all our songs with Mrs. Agati in Music. Luckily, Mrs. Agati said she could come and play the piano and guide us with out performance for the Family Gathering.

On Thursday we worked with our 4th grade partners building our shade structures for our science engineering challenge to Protect the Popsicle. The students planned and built their structures, Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will be able to test our structures on a warn sunny day next week.

Friday was supposed to be Field Day but due to the cold, wet weather the decision was made to hold Field Day next Friday, June 10th. Hopefully it will be a nice warm day. Instead we worked with our 4th grade partners again. This time we learned more about American Symbols to help prepare the students for our North American giant map travels to all the American Symbols sights. We also had a practice concert and the 4th graders were our audience. They said we did a good job, so hopefully we are ready for our Family Gathering. We also had the seniors from BHS who went to Pine Glen came by for a clap out. Miss L. stopped by to see us again. We have missed her.
