Students have been loving their Star sticker charts. Students are told about specific jobs that if done to the best of their ability they earn a sticker on their chart. Once 5 stickers are earned the student is allowed to choose a wrapped prize from the prize bucket. (Students are told not to open these prizes until they are home with an adult). We are front loading the sticker earning right now, for students to "buy into" doing their best work, eventually great work and less sticker earning will be expected.
Students started earning Hoots this week. Hoots are Pine Glen's PBIS system and when students are caught being WISE (Working to be appropriate, Important to be safe, Strive to be kind and Everyone matters), any staff member at Pine Glen can give any student at Pine Glen a Hoot card for being WISE. Students in Room 101 also earn Hoot cards for completing the expected 60 minutes of learning on our curriculum apps, Lexia and ST Math. Each Friday, Ms. Kendall PG's guidance counselor chooses one student who earned a Hoot card that week from each grade and the Hoots of the Week get their photo taken with Ms. Kendall and Mr. Lyons, they earn a certificate, pencil and they will be invited the the special Hoot of the Week lunch that will happen on a monthly basis.
We also celebrated Callie's 6th birthday on Thursday. Happy Birthday Callie!
Congratulations to Aidan who was the first Hoot of the Week for Kindergarten! Way to go Aidan!😊
