This week we had reading groups. We read our first published book- My Color Book and our first sight word reader- I Like Fruit. Students learned how to highlight important words in a text, point to the words and read from left to right. The sight word reader has dots under each word. We talked about how many words were in the sentence, what punctuation was at the end of the sentence. Today our text ended with periods. Students learned that the period is a stopping mark and it ends the sentence. We also read our first Social Studies magazine- Let's Find Out on classroom rules.
