On Friday morning the kindergartners worked with their 4th grade partners to discuss, plan and build a shade structure to protect the popsicle. On Friday afternoon, we tested out our structures. It took about 15 minutes for the control freezepop to completely melt. We then took the freezepops out of the structures and measured how much of the freezepop melted. The students had an extra recess while we all waited for the control pop to melt. Then when we were going over the results the students were able to eat their own freezepop. It was a busy, fun engineering day!
Congratulations to Gawen, Luke & Nick, Zack and Christopher and Aidan and Eliza for creating the structures that protected the popscicle the best! Nice work everyone.
