1st Day of Kindergarten

 We had amazing kindergartners today! All students tried their best adjusting to a new school after a long summer. We were able to go through many expectations and rules in kindergarten and Mrs. Kearney and I were impressed at how well the students did. We are both exhausted after our first day and I'm sure your kindergartner is too. Please try to get your child to bed early tonight. They will need some extra sleep the first few weeks of school until they adjust to the rigors of our kindergarten program. Below are some highlights of our day. You can see we were very busy.

 ¡Tuvimos niños de kindergarten increíbles hoy! Todos los estudiantes hicieron lo mejor que pudieron para adaptarse a una nueva escuela después de un largo verano. Pudimos cumplir con muchas expectativas y reglas en el jardín de infantes y la Sra. Kearney y yo quedamos impresionados por lo bien que lo hicieron los estudiantes. Ambos estamos agotados después de nuestro primer día y estoy seguro de que su hijo de kindergarten también lo está. Por favor, trate de acostar a su hijo temprano esta noche. Necesitarán dormir un poco más las primeras semanas de clases hasta que se adapten a los rigores de nuestro programa de jardín de infantes. Learning our morning hallway/cubby routine.

Backpack on the ground, take out snack & water- put on top of cubby
Take out lunch and put under cubby. Take out Green folder.
Hang backpack on high hook (left side)

Today students had to check or make an x if they wore sneakers for gym.

We learned the rules for the playground and then had some time to play.

We worked on our jobs. We made the pigs straw house, the 3 little pigs, and the September calendar.

We explored some math manipulatives- pattern blocks and color bears.

We also celebrated our first Kindergarten birthday. Happy Birthday to Nolan who turned 6 yesterday!

We had a successful first day and took pictures with our ribbons, crowns and certificates.
