Last June, Kindergartners in Room 101 were challenged with a summer writing challenge. We are pleased to announce that we had 3 students participate! Congratulations to Emma, Alfarouq and Julia. These students wrote in their journal once a week, every week of the summer, adhering to the kindergarten expectations. They each wrote at least 3 sentences and drew an illustration with 6 colors for each entry! We loved reading about all the adventures that were had over the summer.
These students enjoyed a special lunch today with Mrs. Parnell and Mrs. Kearney. We talked about all the journal entries and reminisced about kindergarten and we talked about what the students are liking the best about 1st grade. The students also chose a special stuffed friend as a reward for completing this challenge. Reading and writing are very important skills to practice!
