Writing Folder Fashion Show and Writing Strategies

This week we had our Writing Folder Fashion Show. Room 102 students came to our room and sat on the benches to watch our fashion show. They were impressed with our folder art. After the show Room 101 students taught Room 102 students our favorite October song, The Ghost Go Flying. Then we listened to one of Mrs. Parnell's favorite Halloween stories, In a Dark, Dark Wood. Be sure to ask your child to retell the story. Be ready for a surprise at the end. Next, we talked about strategies writers use when they come to a word they don't know. We made an anchor chart, talked to our Learning Partners about what strategy they would try to use and they told their partner what they would write about.
