Feeding Oakley the Snake

Ms. Pavlicek from the Burlington Science Center was back in Room 101 again this week to talk about food, an essential element that all living things need. She came to talk to us about how and what the snake eats and then we watched Oakley eat his lunch- a mouse. Ms. P. talked about the different between a human skull and a snake skull. With the help of Travis Ms. P showed us how the snakes jaw is in two pieces and it uses its ligaments that can stretch like an elastic band to be able to eat something three times the size of its head.
