This week in Kindergarten we completed our Seed and Community Helper units. In reading groups this week, we completed our last book study- Hey Water. We used this book to start to prepare us for our science engineering challenge to protect the popsicle. We will be creating shade structures with our 4th grade partners and we will see which team protects the popsicle the best (which structure has the least amount of melting compared to the test popsicle that has not protection). We also compared and contrasted non fiction books about water. We completed our last topic in Math, Topic 14. This topic dealt with measurable attributes, weight, length and capacity. These math topics have been tricky for some kindergartners. We will continue to practice with these measuring attributes. We also clapped out the Special Olympians, had a first grade reader in - Evelyn, and we had our popcorn jar reward and celebrated by wearing our pajamas, bringing in a stuffed animal and having iPad time.

4th Grade Partners- Animal Research
We met with our 4th grade partners to continue our Animal Research projects. We worked on our scripts, found a habitat background photo, drew our animals and decorated our party in the bag for our viewing party on 5/26. We will be recording our animal reports on the green screen on Tuesday, May 16th. Please remember that your child should not wear green on Tuesday! The partners have been working so hard with this project and we are so proud of their efforts. Research is hard!
