Congratulations to Mannat who was the Kindergarten Hoot of the Week. Way to go Mannat!
Room 101 students earned lots of congratulations this week. We made it to 70% complete as a class in the ST Math program. We had lots of students earn certificates in the Symphony Math Program and a few Superstars in Lexia. We also had students earn hoot cards for completing their 60 minutes in their learning apps for the week. Great Work Room 101!
We continued our Blanket study this week. The students are doing a great job formulating oral is, who, what questions for the 20 questions game. They have loved figuring out the area with kindergarten bodies- standing, sitting and lying on the special items.
We are excited to share that we will be participating in a service learning project at Pine Glen! We have decided to do something about hunger and have decided to become Hunger Heroes! Please consider sending in a can of soup each week between now and February 9th. Our goal is to collect many, many cans of soup to be donated to Burlington’s Food Pantry run by People Helping People. Today we went up to Mrs. Visocchi's classroom and created posters with our 4th grade partners to advertise the Souper Bowl to hang around Pine Glen.
The students in Room 101 are LOVING our Blanket unit! After a round of 20 questions we have a big reveal and our friends shows us how they snuggle in the blanket. The highlight for many of us is measuring. We measure the length and width and area. We love this part! We are learning terminology, practicing measuring, becoming fluent in counting and more! Using non-conventional means for measuring is interesting. Each day we measure the area of the blankets with kindergarten bodies!
We celebrated three birthdays in Room 101 over the winter break! Happy belated birthday to Mokshita, December 27, Thora, December 31 and Caiden, January 2nd. We hope you all had fabulous days celebrating!
We also had 4 students make it into the JiJi 100% club right before break or during break. Congratulations to Thora, Caydence, Mannat and Prayushi. Way to go girls!
We also had students work on their apps over vacation. Congratulations to Paige and Prayushi for earning their next level Superstar certificates.
We also had some student complete the December read at home challenge.
