Highlights for the Week of October 25th
We learned a lot in Room 101 this week (as always...)
We finished making our Scary Book and then we read the book in Reading group.
Mrs. Ardizzoni, one of Burlington's Technology specialists came back to talk to us about Digital Citizenship. She talked to us about how to stay safe when we are using apps on our iPads or if we are using the internet.
With such a rainy week we had many days of indoor recess. We made the best of it and used some of our math manipulatives.
We practiced our sight words by reading sight word books in reading group. Please use these as a reference at home and have your child read them to you.
We read our Numeral Song book and we practiced writing all the numbers 1-10 (the kindergarten way).
On Thursday we met with our 4th grade partners. We took pictures together wearing our bat hats and candy corn necklaces, we did a directed draw on the drawing pad app of Frankenstein, and played Halloween Bingo.
Parent Readers
Last Friday we were finally able to welcome back some parent volunteers! Although we could not have our volunteers in the building yet, we welcomed our parents to meet us out at the picnic tables and read to us during our afternoon snack time. It appeared that students, parents and teachers all enjoyed this special time! After we read we made a big circle and shared a movement break. We all danced to Dr. Jean's Tooty Ta song. We truly appreciate that parents were able to take the time to join us for this special time. Thank you to Mrs. Andersen, Mrs. DuBay- Dang, Mrs. Delano, Mr. Congini and Mrs. Gillis for joining us!
