Yea for the 1st Day!

We had amazing kindergartners today! All students tried their best adjusting to a new school after an extended summer. We were able to go through many expectations and rules in kindergarten. Mrs. Keaney and I were impressed at how well the students did.

Mrs. Kearney and I were exhausted after our first day and I'm sure your kindergartner is too. Please try to get your child to bed early tonight. They will need some extra sleep the first few weeks of school until they adjust to the rigors of our kindergarten program. Below are some highlights of our day. You can see we were very busy.

Remember that our color review starts tomorrow with RED! Please refer to the handout from our kindergarten orientation so your child can can wear the color of the day with us! We learned a lot about safety today, with wearing our masks, washing our and socially distancing to keep each other safe. We watched this video produced by the Burlington Science Center. Feel free to view it again with your child at home.

We also looked at this slideshow of all the members of Room 101 with their masks on and off! Tomorrow your child will bring home their own book to keep with all the members of our class wearing their masks and not wearing their masks. We hope this book will help your child learn to recognize their classmates. Please try to read this book with your child daily for a few weeks. Thanks for the help!
