Last June, Kindergartners in Room 101 and 103 were challenged with a summer writing challenge. We are pleased to announce that we had a total of 7 students participate! Congratulations to Matthew and Nicholas from 101 and Olivia, Eliana, Quinn and Surya from room 103! We even had a sibling from 102- Chris participate! Mrs. Petelle stopped by to congratulate all the writers. These 7 students wrote in their journal once a week, every week of the summer, adhering to the kindergarten expectations. They each wrote at least 3 sentences and an drew an illustration with 6 colors for each entry! We loved reading about all the adventures that were had over the summer.
These 7 students enjoyed a special lunch today with Mrs. Hoyt and Mrs. Parnell. We talked about all the journal entries and reminisced about kindergarten and we talked about what the students are liking the best about 1st grade. The students also chose a special book as a reward for completing this challenge. Reading and writing are very important skills to practice!
