Ms. P delivered new animals! Reptiles!

Ms. P picked up the amphibeans and delivered some reptiles this week.  She took a few minutes to introduce us to Chunky Monkey the snapping turtle and Mikan the cornsnake.

Snapping turtles have long necks.  They can not pull them into their shells, so their only protection is to snap at potential predators.
Most cornsnakes are brown and blend in with the corn field environment,  They are called cornsnakes because they live in the corn field and eat the mice that are there.
Snakes will shed their skin.  We felt its scales.
This snake is a constrictor.  That means it squeezes its prey before it eats it.  Why does it stick its tongue out?  To taste the air and find out what is around.
