We Planted a Rainbow

The students in Room 101 planted a rainbow last week. We have been learning what is needed to care for living things. The students have been sowing their seeds and were thrilled to see spikes of green last Friday. The students learned that seeds need soils, water and light to help them grow. They also learned that vitamins and heat can also help seeds grow. We have been keeping a science observation journal and checking on our plants daily.

We have also been enjoying children's literature books about seeds. The class enjoyed The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle and Planting a Rainbow by Lois Elhert. The students are almost done with their own Planting a Rainbow book. We hope to send home the plants and book this Friday.
