Nutcracker Dancing!

In preparation for our upcoming trip to the Nutcracker we have been reading stories, listening to music, making books and crafts about the Nutcracker. All these efforts help us appreciate the show and understand what is happening. To add to the understanding and sequencing of the play the students in Room 101 have been learning the dances to Act II in the Nutcracker Ballet. This is when the Nutcracker Prince and Clara visit the Kingdom of the Sweets. We have learned Spanish Chocolates, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, Russian Peppermints, Marzipan Shepherd and Mother Ginger.

Then on Friday we were the "teachers" and we all taught the kindergartners in Room 102 and Room 103 these dances. We had a great time teaching our friends. We will practice one more time with them before our field trip on December 8th.

A reminder about the trip will go home on Wednesday. Please have your child "dress up" for their theater experience. Thank you for your assistance! We hope you enjoy watching these videos of us preforming the Nutcracker dances. Thank you Mrs. Hoyt and Miss Miliano for taking the videos.
