Spring Colors, Mixing & Eggs!

This week we reviewed coloring mixing. The students were in groups during morning meeting talking about primary and secondary colors and shared with their groups what happens when they mix two primary colors together. We read Mouse Paint and White Rabbits Color Book, then we did our own science experiment. Be sure to ask your child what happened to the paper towels that we placed in the containers!  We observed this experiment and wrote about our observations the next day. We also made our own color mixing craft. We watched the Reading Rainbow on Rechenka's Eggs and watche Patricia Polacco create her Ukrainian Eggs. Then we watched LeVar, the host of Reading Rainbow stand on eggs! Eggs are so strong! Next week we will be dying our own Spring Eggs and we will be getting ready to hatch our own eggs. Ms. Pavlicek will be coming to do the Chick Hatching Show on Tuesday, and the chicken eggs will arrive to our incubator on April 2nd and the chicks shouls start hatching on Thursday! We are so excited about all of these Spring activities. Hopefully the weather will start to cooperate and it will feel like spring!
