Jim Tonnor and Diane!
Recently students in room 103 were gifted a new book! Mrs. Hoyt's Class shared this book with us. The story of Diane the Turtle generated questions and a desire to learn more.
Diane is turning 50 on December 1st, so we sent her some birthday greetings and a list of questions.
Pine Glen school librarian, Rachel Small traveled to New Hampshire and visited Diane and author Jim Tonnor and his twin brother, illustrator, Brad Tonnor. We have been watching Diane on her webcam all week and On Friday morning through Diane the turtle webcam http://www.dianetheturtle.com/ Jim and Brad came on the webcam and showed us a sign that thanked Pine Glen kindergartners for their cards, drawings, pictures and questions. They also showed us that they have two cats that live in the store too. It was very exciting to connect with the author and illustrator and to have our students writing have an audience!
