Kindergarten Week 4- September 30th - October 4th

We have been in Kindergarten for 20 days! Here are some highlights of our busy week 4. We are on week 2 of FUNdations. We have learned letters t, b, f, n and m. The students practiced being the drill sound director this week. They took turns holding up the drill sound card and holding up baby echo so the class could repeat the drill sound card. We also read and wrote the color words in our Nursery Rhyme books. Hopefully your student was proud of their book and was excited to share their second book with you. (Remember we recommend that you invest in a basket or Rubbermaid tote so you can have a special place to store their kindergarten treasures). We also practiced our writing during Writers Workshop. We made paper eaten apples and looked at the cross section of an apple and learned about all the parts of an apple. We read many apple poems and sang an apple song. New books were started this week on numbers 1-5 and the Human Body. We sang some bone songs and read a few body books. We learned more about living vs. nonliving things and we read our Apple Tree Through the Seasons book. (Our 3rd book this year!)

Special thanks to our Parent Volunteers this week- Mrs. Delano, Mrs. Hillman, Mrs. Mailhot and Ms. Barrows. We can accomplish so much more with parent support!
