Week 5- October 7-11

Kindergarten Week 5

We learned about and worked on many things this week. We have been writing during Writers Workshop, learning about our Bodies, letters i & u, and numbers 5 & 6. We have been working on our 5 Little Pumpkins book- a new retell challenge was sent home in the homework folder this week. We have challenged the students to retell the 5 Little Pumpkins story. Parents please video their retells so we can post them to the blog.

We have also been learning about push and pull in science. We read a few books on push and pull, we did a sort and we discussed what items we push and which we pull. Soon we will start learning about push and pull Funomena- our 4th grade partners will help with these stations!

The students have been doing activities to help them learn their first set of sight words. We have played musical words, roll and record a word, word searches, circling the words in the news and in our Let's Find Out magazine and writing the words.

We also did a few movement breaks with GoNoodle- the students have been enjoying the Kidz Bop channel. We also had out 4th grade partners down to help us learn more about Fall and what happens to Deciduous trees. We also went to the library and Ms. Kendall came in to do a Whole Body Listening lesson with us. We had another BUSY week!

Thank you to Mrs. Farranda, Ms. Sprangers, Mrs. Delano and Ms. Wilcox for helping us in the classroom this week!
