We saw our 4th Grade partners twice this week. On Tuesday afternoon we watched a Zoom webinar with author Jacqueline Woodson as part of the Global Read Aloud. Dr. Small Pine Glen's teacher librarian has been reading Jacqueline Woodson books to the students. During the webinar Ms. Woodson read from some of her books and shared how she comes up with her ideas and the steps she goes through to get from an idea to a book. She also shared many of her awards with us. Then the Kindergartners read two of the books we have been reading in class to their buddy and their 4th grade partner also read the kindergartner a book. We then went outside and drew an illustration with chalk from one of the books that was read.
On Thursday afternoon. We worked on another Let's Find Out on Fall with our 4th grade partners. We also did some leaf rubbings and checked out some fall items to see if they would sink or float. Some students were surprised that their predictions were wrong. Did you know that apples float!
