Highlights Week of October 22-26th
Room 101 continues to be a very busy place. Monday night was the town wide ST Math night and Mrs. Hoyt and I met JiJi. I also saw a couple of Room 101 families at the event. The Ahmed and Jarvis families did lots of math and met JiJi too. We worked on letters a and g and the numbers 8 and 9. We learned a lot about pumpkins through a Let's Find Out magazine, cutting a pumpkin to see the cross section. Then we labeled the parts of the cross section and predicted if a pumpkin would float. We tried this out and a lot of students were amazed that pumpkins do float! We voted to see what kind of Jack-o-lantern face Mr. Parnell should carve in our class pumpkin. We also used the pattern blocks to create jack-o-lantern designs. We read our 5 Little Pumpkins book and made our own Scary Books.
