Happy Snow Day Everyone!
Mrs. Parnell & Mrs. Kearney will miss everyone today. It is a great day to do listen to a good book! Here's a youtube video of The Snowy Day. If you would like to watch it as a read aloud:
There are many fun activities of things you can do to expand learning with the book. Here is a link to an article full of suggestions. Our favorites include making snowy play dough and the melted snowman ornaments!

We love to know about your adventures! Will you bake, read, play some games? Be sure to help with the shoveling and clearing the cars! Whether you get outside for some fun or stay in and play, send some pictures to share. Perhaps you can write about what you do while at home today. We will share and celebrate your activities by posting them on our blog!
Remember, tomorrow, Wednesday, December 17 we will have a winter celebration. We will study the new Grace Lin Book, Big Bed for Little Snow. Author Lin, was inspired to write and illustrated her book because she enjoyed reading The Snowy Day as a young girl! Room 101's student Max H. (and his mom) were the models for this new book! We have a celebrity in our room! We can't wait to share this book with all of you tomorrow!
Students are invited to wear Pj's to school tomorrow. Slippers are welcome too. We will not need snow clothes as we will plan to have indoor recess and enjoy our pajama day!
