We have learned over theist couple weeks about the different roles of community helpers. One common theme is they help to take care of us and keep us safe. Our visit with Officer Sheppard of the Burlington Police Department reinforced that theme.
He told us about his job and what he had to do to become a police officer and then helped us understand about strangers, what to do if we are lost and what number to call in an emergency...911.
Students were given a homework assignment to practice learning their home address and telephone number.
Students loved the interactive Q and A time and winning prizes! Officer Sheppard is often at Pine Glen and we are looking forward to his next visit!

4th Grade Partners
We have been missing our 4th grade partners. We were able to reconnect with our partners and we took turns reading to each other. It was great to catch up and practice our reading skills. We have a few more fun activities planned with our 4th grade partners. We will miss our "big" friends when we leave for the summer.
