May 5 - Read Aloud - Mother Bruce

Today our ELL teacher, Mrs. Kim read the story Mother Bruce
by Ryan T. Higgins. Bruce is a grumpy bear that likes to keep
to himself and doesn’t like much of anything except eggs. He
loves to try out new recipes. That is until one day he discovers
the eggs he has chosen aren’t normal eggs but are the kind
that hatch! That’s when his trouble begins with four goslings.
What will Bruce do when these babies think Bruce is their mother?
Can he become any grumpier?

Watch this great video about a baby goose who get raised,
not by a bear, but by a human:

Bruce did not like many things but he did like eggs. What things
do you like? Click here to write about all the things you like.

Bruce liked to experiment with new recipes for his eggs, like
when he discovered the recipe for hard boiled goose eggs
drizzled in honey salmon sauce. Click below to create your
own recipe. First you will need to list your ingredients and then
give step by step directions to follow.
Have fun and be creative!
